The Supreme Control Chamber of Poland will check the import of grain from Ukraine into the country, Michal Kobosko, First Deputy Chairman of the Poland 2050 Party, told reporters.

It was this party that initiated the audit by submitting a corresponding application to the Supreme Control Chamber.

“At the suggestion of Poland 2050, the Supreme Control Chamber will conduct an audit of state supervision over the import of grain from Ukraine and food security,” Kobosko said.

According to him, the party “expects decisive action” from the control chamber, first of all, “information on how not to lead to a repetition of this situation after the new harvest.”

Earlier, the prosecutor’s office in Polish Rzeszow announced that it was investigating a case of fraud with the import of grain from Ukraine. Investigators have already been able to establish that one of the companies imported technical grain from Ukraine and sold it to several Polish feed and food producers, misleading them about quality and origin.

According to official data from the Polish side, about 2 million tons of grain were imported into the republic from Ukraine over the past year.

The EC announced on May 2 that it had taken steps to import selected grains from Ukraine. According to the commission, the measures are aimed at eliminating the logistical difficulties associated with these products in Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia. They will last until June 5, 2023.
