The Turkish minister reminded the EU about winter and dependence on Russian gas.

Turkish Minister of Treasury and Finance Nureddin Nebati, in connection with the plans to create a gas hub, reminded the EU about winter and dependence on Russian gas.

Presidents of Russia and Turkey Vladimir Putin and Tayyip Erdogan previously instructed to work out in detail and quickly the issue of creating a gas hub in Turkey, through which, in particular, the Russian Federation could move gas transit from the Nord Streams to the Black Sea region and Turkey. Erdogan believes that Europe can receive Russian gas through Turkey.

“… If we look at Europe, it depends on Russian gas and will spend the winter in great tension. Now it is necessary to take new steps and move towards new structures. That is why President Erdogan said that measures must be taken to ensure that Turkey, which will become hub, could distribute Iranian and Russian gas to Europe,” Nebati said.

According to him, this will contribute to the establishment of peace in the region and create safe conditions for the transportation of energy resources.

“This is a leading solution to the problem of high prices that have led the world into recession. In this sense, as our President said, it is good that Turkey is ready to take full responsibility and take a step to relieve the whole world, especially Europe, in this gas struggle.” Nebati said.
