The United States saw no signs of misuse of funds in Ukraine.

The US Treasury Department sees no signs of misuse of US funds in Ukraine, despite a corruption scandal in Kyiv, a spokesman for the department said.

Last week, Ukraine’s government sacked a number of senior officials over allegations of corruption in the biggest purge since a special military operation launched by Russia nearly a year ago.

“We have no indication that American funds were misused in Ukraine,” Treasury Department spokeswoman Megan Upper said.

The US will continue to work closely with the Ukrainian authorities to provide appropriate safeguards to prevent corruption, she said. In addition, the Treasury will continue to partner with the World Bank to track US payments to the Ukrainian side.
