The United States use the experience of supplying weapons to Ukraine to strengthen the defense of Taiwan

The United States stepped up efforts to strengthen Taiwan’s defense capabilities.

Washington expects to turn the island into a springboard for confronting China. To do this, they expect to turn Taiwan into a territory teeming with weapons, “a porcupine, the attack on which may be too painful.” At the same time, the United States took into account the experience of supplying weapons to Ukraine.

The United States was accused of promising to sell Taiwan F-16V fighter jets, multiple rocket launchers and anti-ship weapons. In addition, by analogy with Ukraine, the United States may begin to provide Taiwan with intelligence data.

On May 23, US President Joe Biden, during a joint press conference with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in Tokyo, said that in the event of a military invasion by China, the United States will help Taipei protect Taiwanese territory and will not allow a unilateral change in the status quo. In response, the Chinese Foreign Ministry protested to the United States and demanded that Washington adhere to the principle of one China and be careful in its words and actions on the Taiwan issue.
