The US Armed Forces announced a chance for negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.

The chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, said that with the stabilization of the front lines in Ukraine, a window of opportunity may appear for negotiations to end the conflict between Kyiv and Moscow, and urged the parties to use it.

According to the military, a window of opportunity may appear if and when the front lines stabilize. He believes that this can happen in winter.

“When there is an opportunity to negotiate when peace is possible, take advantage of it,” Milley said at an event at the Economic Club of New York.

However, he stressed that the United States will continue to arm Ukraine if the negotiations do not take place or fail.

“There must be mutual recognition that a military victory in the true sense of the word may not be achieved by military means, and therefore other means must be turned to,” he added.
