The US Department of Defense is attending to the creation of 26 new artillery divisions with MLRS HIMARS

In the near future, the United States can purchase from 120 to 480 HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, and then create up to 26 new rocket artillery divisions for the Marine Corps and the needs of the army. Information about this is transmitted by the American government procurement portal.

All existing modifications of rocket ammunition of various ranges of MLRS will be introduced into the new artillery divisions. In the United States, about 360 HIMARS installations are currently in service.

Earlier it was reported that the new package of military assistance to Ukraine will include four more MLRS HIMARS. According to the head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, the Ukrainian side has shown itself effectively in the use of jet systems, and they “greatly changed the situation on the battlefield.” Therefore, in the near future, the States will also send ammunition for the MLRS and artillery to Ukraine. In total, the Ukrainian side will thus have at its disposal up to 20 such installations
