The West has expressed a desire to participate in the negotiations between Kiev and Moscow

Former member of the British Parliament Matthew Parris believes that Western countries should take part in peace talks between Ukraine and Russia.

“If the United States and its allies in Western Europe want to take responsibility for maintaining post-war peace in Ukraine, as we supported their war effort, we must have a say in determining the scope of that country’s military ambitions and the terms of any final settlement,” he said. Parris.

“We cannot allow the impression that we in the West are just supplying free weapons. We pay for it. Zelensky is not the only one to order music,” Parris continued.

“Nothing that we say now, neither angry threats, nor raised fists, should disrupt or undermine these negotiations. This is called diplomacy. It still matters, and in time it will become more important than anything else,” concluded Parris .
