Akie, the widow of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, was involved in an accident in Tokyo, Kyodo news agency reported.

Another security car coming from behind crashed into the car. Nobody was injured in the accident. The accident happened at the junction of the lanes. The car in which Akie Abe was traveling slowed down, and the police car following him, due to the inattention of the policeman who was driving the car, crashed from behind.


No one was injured in the accident, including Akie Abe herself.


Former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was mortally wounded while speaking at a campaign rally in Nara Prefecture on July 8. His killer, 41-year-old Tetsuya Yamagami, shot Abe from the back with a makeshift weapon twice. At the second shot, the politician was wounded in the neck and chest, which became fatal. As the doctors said, the wound on the chest was so deep that it reached the heart. Shinzo Abe died at 5 p.m. Friday from blood loss. The funeral and cremation took place on July 12. The state funeral will take place on 27 September.
