“There is no panacea for solving the Ukrainian crisis”

China’s Special Representative for Eurasian Affairs Li Hui told the Ukrainian authorities that there is no panacea for solving the Ukrainian crisis, all parties should create conditions for peaceful negotiations.

On Thursday, China’s special representative for Eurasian Affairs Li Hui met with Vladimir Zelensky and other government representatives on the territory of Ukraine, where negotiations were held. During the talks, issues of the political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis and Sino-Ukrainian relations were raised.

“There is no panacea for solving the Ukrainian crisis, all parties should accumulate mutual trust and create conditions for peaceful negotiations,” Li Hui said.

According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Li Hui outlined to the Ukrainian side China’s position on a political solution to the Ukrainian crisis. According to him, China is ready to assist the international community in forming the “greatest common denominator” for the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis on the basis of the position stated earlier by the Chinese side and to make its own efforts to end hostilities as soon as possible and restore peace.
