Two professional pilots – Alan Purwin and Carlos Berl – worked on the set of American made alongside with Tom Cruise who is also a licensed pilot. The tragic accident in the air took the lives of Alan Purwin and Carlos Berl who died while on set in Colombia.

Now, the experts are asking, whether that tragedy was preventable? Conflicting accounts and a pilot in a ‘death pool’ raise questions about safety and the filmmakers’ role in it all: ‘Hollywood cut corners,’ said The Hollywood Reporter in the piece.
