Tom Ford won’t be dressing first lady Melania Trump

Tom Ford won’t be dressing first lady Melania Trump

Tom Ford has no intentions to dress up the lady-to-be Melania Trump, the designer expressed his own viewing of her style. Tom said she’s not necessarily his image.

The US presidential elections 2016 were the most controversial in the history, but the fashion industry stood out as the united front against Donald Trump. The most powerful designers and fashion brands openly supported the Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, and Tom Ford is also Hillary’s fan.

Tom Ford is the latest fashion designer to say he doesn’t expect to fly to the White House or Trump Tower to personally dress Melania Trump. Moreover, Mr Ford joins a growing list of designers, who published an open letter urging her peers to avoid working with the new soon-to-be the first lady. Marc Jacobs and Sophie Theallet were the first signatories of this letter.

Melania Trump: who from designers will dress the first lady?

Designers enjoyed an almost unprecedented golden age with Michelle Obama, who used her garments to convey the importance of the American industry and young talents who are giving it new life. What the plans for the fashion has Melania?

Mrs Obama helped elevate many up-and-coming designers in the public’s consciousness. Like Jason Wu, Prabal Gurung and Theallet, they were diverse, with backgrounds and lineages from all over the world.
