Turkish Bayraktar successfully launched a laser-guided missile

The Turkish-made Bayraktar AKINCI strike unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) successfully launched an LGK-82 laser-guided missile developed by ASELSAN as part of tests.

The strike UAV took off on July 1 from the Corlu airbase in Tekirdag province in northwestern Turkey and launched a laser-guided cruise missile at an altitude of 30,000 feet, accurately hitting the target of a mock enemy.

This kind of ammunition, previously used by manned aircraft, was first tested on a UAV.
Another Turkish development was used as a guidance system – the GÖZDE system of TÜBİTAK SAGE specialists.

The company emphasized that the process of integrating domestic ammunition into attack UAVs will continue in coordination with the Defense Industry Directorate under the Turkish presidential administration.
