UK residents are turning away from pets due to inflation

The rise in prices for food, veterinary services, and toys for animals forced the inhabitants of the UK to abandon their pets.

This year, the Dogs Trust has received 18,000 calls from pet owners who cannot afford to keep their pets. It is noted that this is 55% more than in the first seven months of last year.

Adam Close of The Trust’s Animal Reception Center said British people are being forced to “choose between heating their homes, feeding their children or giving up their dog“. As a result, the center is overcrowded with pets, and this situation is observed in animal rescue centers throughout the United Kingdom.

Britons are struggling to cover the cost of burying or cremating their dead pets due to rising prices in the country.

Last week it became known that people in the UK began to save on funerals amid a sharp rise in prices and record inflation. Every sixth family experiences difficulties. They reduce the cost of a coffin and flowers.
