US Congress asks for urgent briefing over Trump

US House Committee Chairs Carolyn Maloney and Adam Schiff have requested an urgent briefing on whether former US President Donald Trump harmed national security by keeping classified documents on his Florida estate.

“We are requesting an immediate harm assessment in connection with the information that Trump took classified information and stored it on his estate,” the lawmakers said in a public letter addressed to the director of national intelligence, Avril Haynes.

Congressmen insist that, in connection with the published facts, it is necessary to assess the possible harm, and, as a result, hold a secret briefing for members of Congress.
