US deploys B-52 strategic bombers for exercises

Four B-52H Stratofortress strategic bombers have been deployed from Barksdale Air Force Base in the southern United States to Fairchild Air Force Base on the border with Canada as part of the Agile Combat Employment nuclear deterrence exercise.

According to the publication, during the exercise, American pilots will conduct maneuvers and work out a new BOCS bomber maintenance system, which includes two 2.2-ton containers with spare parts and equipment that allow the aircraft to be repaired in the field.

It is noteworthy that B-52s were withdrawn from Fairchild airbase in 2010, and in 1994 one of these aircraft crashed there – the video of the crash is still among the most viewed aircraft incidents on the net.

The plane crashed during a turn due to pilot error. Then all four crew members on board were killed.

Earlier it was reported that the United States deployed to Europe four B-52H Stratofortress strategic bombers that are capable of carrying nuclear weapons.

The transfer was carried out to fulfill the “long-planned mission of the operational bomber group.”
