US Republican Senator Ted Cruz, representing the state of Texas, said on Fox Business that China is waging a “thousand-year” war against the United States.

At the same time, he did not specify whether the aforementioned confrontation has been going on for a thousand years or whether Beijing only plans to compete with Washington for so long. Cruz also failed to mention that the US as a nation was only founded 247 years ago.

“China is waging a thousand-year war against the United States. They want economic, military and global dominance. <…> Yes, China is systematically waging this war,” Cruz said.
