Voting in the elections has ended in most regions of Kazakhstan.

Polling stations for elections of deputies to the Mazhilis (lower house of parliament) and maslikhats (local representative bodies) of Kazakhstan closed in most regions of the country at 20.00.

In five regions – West Kazakhstan, Atyrau, Aktobe, Mangystau and Kyzylorda regions – polling stations will close an hour later due to the time difference.


There is no turnout threshold. According to the CEC it was 53.11%.


All seven parties registered in the republic participate in the elections: the most numerous “Amanat”, the Democratic Party “Ak Zhol”, the People’s Party of Kazakhstan, the People’s Democratic Patriotic Party “Auyl”, the National Social Democratic Party, the Kazakh Green Party “Baytak” and the public association “Party of the Republic”.

281 candidates are included in seven lists of parties applying for 69 mandates of Majilis deputies. In addition, 29 single-mandate majoritarian constituencies have been organized in the republic, in which both representatives of parties and self-nominated candidates are fighting.
