Xi Jinping ordered the army to focus on preparing for combat

The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) “should focus on preparing for real combat,” said Chinese President and head of the country’s Central Military Commission Xi Jinping.

The head of state sent such an instruction to the participants of the seminar on national defense and military reform, which was held in Beijing. The event was attended by members of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee.

The PRC leader also instructed to strictly adhere to the plan to achieve the goals of army reform.

Xi Jinping’s order was issued against the background of the aggravation of the situation around Taiwan. So, on Wednesday morning, the official representative of the Eastern Zone of the PLA Combat Command, Shi Yi, said that Chinese units maintain high combat readiness after the passage of ships of the US and Canadian navies in the Taiwan Strait. The representative of the command stressed that the troops would resist all threats and were ready to defend state sovereignty and territorial integrity.
