An earthquake occurred off the coast of Taiwan.

An earthquake of magnitude 5.6 occurred on Friday off the east coast of Taiwan, the Chinese Seismological Center reported.


According to the center, tremors were recorded at 15.45 in the waters off the coast of Hualien County, the epicenter was at a depth of 10 kilometers.
There were no reports of casualties or damage.


According to statistics, tremors in Hualien County, located in the eastern part of Taiwan, occur more often than in other areas of the island. In February 2018, a devastating earthquake of magnitude 6.5 killed 16 people and injured another 285. On April 3 this year, a strong earthquake occurred off the coast of Hualien County, the magnitude of which was estimated by the China Seismological Center at 7.3. The earthquake killed at least 12 people.
