China’s defense minister warned of impending disaster

The conflict between China and the United States will be an “unbearable catastrophe” for the whole world, this opinion was expressed on Sunday by Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu at the annual Asian security summit “Daylog Shangri-La”.

“There is no denying that a serious conflict or confrontation between China and the United States will be an unbearable catastrophe for the whole world,” the minister said.

Li noted that China prefers dialogue rather than confrontation with the United States, despite the fact that the two countries differ in many ways.

“However, this should not prevent both sides from seeking common ground and common interests for the development of bilateral ties and deepening cooperation,” he said.

The minister added that the world is big enough for China and the United States to develop together.
