Taiwan recorded the approach of 23 aircraft and 5 Chinese ships.

Taiwan’s armed forces recorded 23 aircraft and 5 ships of the People’s Liberation Army approaching the island in one day. This is stated in a statement posted on the website of the island’s defense department.

Allegedly, eight aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait and entered the air defense identification zone in the southwestern and eastern parts of the island.

The statement said Taiwan’s army responded by using aircraft, ships, and ground-based anti-aircraft missile systems to track targets.

Taiwan has been governed by its own administration since 1949, when the remnants of the Kuomintang forces led by Chiang Kai-shek (1887-1975) fled there after being defeated in the Chinese Civil War. Beijing considers Taiwan one of the provinces of China.
