The DPRK’s permanent representative to the UN advised the United States and its allies not to distort reality.

The DPRK’s permanent representative to the UN advised the United States and its allies not to distort reality.

The DPRK’s permanent representative to the UN, Kim Song, said that any new group formed like the dissolved group of experts of the UN Security Council Committee on Sanctions against the DPRK will be doomed to “self-destruction” over time, the North Korean Central Telegraph Agency (KCNA) reports.

The permanent representative called the joint statement issued on May 1 by the United States and its allies on the dissolution of the group a “funeral speech” and called on the West to “humbly” accept the reality in which the opinion of the international community “has turned its back on them.” He advised the US and its allies not to “distort” reality by portraying the dissolution of the group due to a veto by “one permanent member” as a disaster, but to reflect deeply on the failure of their “arrogant and selfish” hostile policy against the DPRK.

Kim Song said the group’s dissolution was a “punishment from history” for the creation of an “illegal and conspiratorial” organization that served as a tool for the hegemony of the United States and Western countries trying to destroy the DPRK’s right to exist.

“Whatever second or third group of specialists is formed by hostile forces, it will be doomed to self-destruction over time,” the statement said.

Kim Song promised that if the United States and its satellites do not “learn a lesson” from current events and continue to “cling to the anachronistic hostile policy against the DPRK,” they will suffer an even more “terrible” strategic defeat.
