Exercises to develop a scenario for the defense of the Suwalki corridor have begun in Lithuania.

Joint exercises with Poland to test the defense of the Suwalki corridor have started in Lithuania, the command of the Lithuanian army reported.

“Between April 21 and April 26, joint field exercises between Lithuania and Poland will take place with the air element Brave Griffin 24/II, in which allies from the United States and Portugal will participate,” the release said.

It is expected that one and a half thousand military personnel from the Lithuanian Samogitia brigade, together with their allies, will work out a scenario for the defense of the Suwalki corridor according to the bilateral “Orsha Plan”.

The Suwalki corridor is a narrow section located between Belarus and the Kaliningrad region of Russia along the Polish-Lithuanian border near the city of Suwalki. Its length is about one hundred kilometers.
