Biden intends to create a permanent headquarters of the US army corps in Poland

US President Joe Biden announced the country’s intention to establish a permanent headquarters for the US Fifth Army Corps in Europe in Poland.

“In Poland, we are going to establish a permanent headquarters of the US Army’s Fifth Corps,” Biden said during a press conference in Madrid, which was broadcast on the NATO website.

The American leader added that the United States and NATO should increase interoperability along the entire eastern flank and intensify the rotational deployment of troops in the Baltic region. In general, the US military presence is planned to be strengthened throughout Europe, Biden said.

The NATO summit is being held in the capital of Spain from June 28 to 30. The participants discuss new challenges and plan to adopt a strategic concept for the bloc until 2030, in which Russia will be named the main security threat.
