In Argentina, gas was used against teachers and pensioners during a protest.

Argentine police used gas against teachers and pensioners during a protest in the center of Buenos Aires, C5N TV channel reported.

“The police used gas against people participating in a protest against the liquidation of the national teacher incentive fund,” the TV channel noted.

Pensioners also took part in the demonstration, demanding an increase in pensions.

Protesters who gathered near the Argentine Congress building took to the roadway, which, according to new rules for holding demonstrations, led to police intervention. Law enforcement officers pushed people back onto the sidewalk so that they would not impede the flow of traffic.

Currently, the situation in Congress is calm.
A teachers’ strike has been announced for Thursday in Argentina. The authorities warned that they would not pay for one working day those teachers who took part in it.
