Stoltenberg called on NATO countries to take risks with arms supplies for the sake of Ukraine.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg believes that the alliance countries should take risks and send Kyiv even the weapons necessary for their own defense.

“I called on countries to dig deeper, which means that if they can only supply Ukraine with the weapons they need to ensure their own defense, then they should take the risk,” he said.

Stoltenberg also said that following a meeting via videoconference between the heads of the NATO Defense Ministry and Vladimir Zelensky, it was decided to speed up the supply of ammunition and air defense systems to Kyiv; additional supplies of air defense systems can be expected in the near future.

According to Stoltenberg, the West “supplies Ukraine with weapons with which it defeats Russia’s military capabilities, and this, in turn, makes NATO safer.”
