The US permanent representative to NATO hopes to approve new aid to Ukraine in April.

US Permanent Representative to NATO Julianne Smith hopes that the US Congress will approve new aid to Ukraine no later than the end of April.

“I really hope, we all hope, that additional assistance will arrive no later than the end of this month,” she told a conference marking NATO’s 75th anniversary in Washington.

Last December, the US administration exhausted its possibilities for providing arms to Ukraine; this year only one aid package worth $300 million was transferred. The White House’s request to allocate $60 billion for Kyiv is awaiting approval.
