President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated the need to firmly suppress any attempts to split Kazakh society and involve citizens in other people’s information wars.

“The authorities will take measures to ensure the peace and security of the people. All kinds of speculation and insinuation, no matter who they come from, will receive a powerful public rebuff and an adequate response from law enforcement agencies,” he said, speaking on Thursday at the meeting of the 33rd session of the Assembly of the People Kazakhstan “Unity. Creation. Progress”.

According to Tokayev, “it is necessary to strictly suppress any attempts to split our society.”

“Involving our fellow citizens in other people’s information wars and promoting hatred pose serious risks to the stability of our country and harmony in society. Each of us needs to strictly follow the letter and spirit of our constitution, which proclaims equal rights and freedoms for all citizens. It is important to always and in everything respect law and order, to ensure the rule of law in word and deed,” the President of Kazakhstan noted.

He said that the task of the authorities is to strengthen mutual respect and trust in society, to seek new unifying principles and guidelines as opposed to religious, regional or socio-economic differences.
