Turkey announces the readiness of the army to start a military special operation in northern Syria

Turkish troops are already ready to start an operation in Syria and are waiting for an order to start its active phase.

Turkey has previously announced that it intends to create a security zone along the Turkish-Syrian border.

Ankara has already carried out 4 operations in Syria. The new operation will differ from the previous ones in that now the Turkish troops will use mainly Turkish military equipment, or weapons modernized by the Turkish side.

Turkish troops will use attack drones, including Bayraktar, Koral electronic warfare systems, T129 ATAK fire support and reconnaissance helicopters and others.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the purpose of this operation would be to liberate the areas of Tell Rifaat and Manbij from terrorists. Turkey wants to expand the 30-kilometer security zone formed in October 2019 as a result of Operation Peace Spring along the entire Turkish-Syrian border.
