US opposes Biden’s decision to sell F-16 fighter jets to Turkey

Democrats opposed President Biden’s initiative to sell F-16 fighter jets to Turkey.

The US House of Congress must pass a decision that could impose a restriction on Biden’s decision to sell fighter jets to Turkey.

It became known that Democrat Bob Menendez strongly opposed such a decision by Biden. Despite this, Biden was supported by a number of members of Congress. The US presidential administration has not dispelled the fears of unfavorable actions of the Turkish authorities applicable to Greece.

“Until the administration is able to provide suitable answers on how they intended to alleviate the aforementioned concerns, we will continue to object to this transfer of weapons and do our best to ensure that these F-16s are not delivered to the Turkish government,” the Greek MPs said.

At the moment, it is not yet known how Biden’s initiative will be perceived in Washington.
