Serbian leader Aleksandar Vucic said on August 21 that the country’s authorities would soon try to reach a compromise with the Kosovo and Albanian authorities in Pristina.

Recall that in early autumn, the authorities of Kosovo are going to ban entry into their territory with Serbian documents. It is also planned to launch the re-registration of car numbers that were issued in Serbia.

“We will diligently look for a compromise in the next 10 days and I hope we succeed,” Vučić said at the end of the meeting with the leaders of the Serbs from Kosovo, which was held because of the aforementioned decision of Pristina.

Earlier, the Public News Service reported that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and the “prime minister” of the self-proclaimed Kosovo Albin Kurti failed to reach an agreement on a settlement during a round of dialogue held in Brussels. Nevertheless, the politicians came to an agreement to continue the discussion in the coming days.

The corresponding statement following the results of the talks was made by the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell. Borrell also stressed that differences between Belgrade and Pristina still exist. Nevertheless, the leaders of the parties to the conflict are aware that there is no alternative to dialogue for the sake of normalizing relations.
