China explained the refusal of the United States to supply Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine.

The United States is not eager to supply Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine because of their cost, writes Chinese military expert Zhang Xuefeng.

“These systems are very expensive. The Patriot-3 missile costs more than four million rubles, and the guided missile of the advanced AIM-120 air defense system of early versions costs about a million dollars. The West clearly does not want to give such expensive weapons to Ukraine,” the expert says.

In addition, he noted that from the point of view of technical support, the system is too complicated for Ukrainians.

“If Kyiv receives these complexes in a short time, it will definitely demand that the US military conduct appropriate training,” he said.

And the main goal of Washington is not to strengthen Ukraine, but to pump it with weapons in such a way as to prolong the conflict and deplete Russia, the expert added.

“Spending huge sums will weaken the States themselves,” he stressed.
