In Belarus, a sudden check of combat readiness has begun, the Ministry of Defense of the republic said.

The audit is carried out on behalf of the President and under the leadership of the State Secretariat of the Security Council.

“The measures will be comprehensive, the troops will have to advance to the designated areas as soon as possible, implement their engineering equipment, organize security and defense, and build bridge crossings across the Neman and Berezina rivers,” the release says.

The Ministry of Defense warned that during the maneuvers, traffic is limited on some roads and terrain.

⠀The last time a sudden check of combat readiness was carried out in Belarus on October 11 and 12. Then about 500 servicemen and about 50 pieces of weapons and military equipment participated in it.

In early October, President Alexander Lukashenko announced that Kyiv had pulled up a group of up to 15,000 troops to the border with Belarus. At the same time, he stressed that the Belarusian military does not take part in the Russian special operation in Ukraine, and called the task of Minsk to prevent attacks on its territory, in particular from Poland, Lithuania and Latvia.
After that, Belarus has repeatedly reported provocations at the border and strengthened security measures. Lukashenka, for his part, warned that in the event of an attack on the republic, Minsk, together with Moscow, would respond in such a way that “not only Europe would tremble.”
