The Netherlands may supply Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets.

The Netherlands will consider the possibility of supplying Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets, said Foreign Minister Wopke Hoekstru.

The Dutch foreign minister said during a debate in the House of Representatives (the lower house of parliament) that his country would consider supplying Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets if the Ukrainian government so requests.

Hoekstra said the government would consider such a request “with an open mind.”

During a visit to Washington on January 17, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said that The Hague intends to join the United States and Germany in the supply of Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine.

The authorities of the Netherlands also decided earlier to allocate 2.5 billion euros in aid to Ukraine in 2023.
