The head of the European Council arrived in Kyiv for the EU-Ukraine summit.

The head of the European Council, Charles Michel, announced that he had arrived in Kyiv to participate in the EU-Ukraine summit.

The summit is also taking place on Friday with the participation of the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell.

“I’m back in Kyiv for the EU-Ukraine summit with Volodymyr Zelensky, Ursula von der Leyen and Josep Borrell,” Michel tweeted.


The day before, meetings of representatives of the European Commission and the government of Ukraine were held in Kyiv. A new financial aid package and an expansion of the Ukrainian military training mission were announced.

It is expected that during the summit the parties will also discuss new sanctions against Russia, the use of frozen Russian assets to restore Ukraine.
