Deputy Prime Minister of Great Britain and part-time Minister of Justice Dominic Raab has promised to resign if the results of an independent investigation of the facts of inappropriate behavior are confirmed.

“I will leave,” the deputy prime minister said on air after being asked whether he would resign if allegations of inappropriate behavior were confirmed.

In December, Sky News, citing a spokesman for British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, reported that five more complaints had been filed against Raab due to his inappropriate behavior and bullying of other employees. In November, Sunak approved Raab’s request for an investigation into formal complaints, then three.

Earlier, the British media noted that the situation is escalating not only around Raab, but also around the prime minister himself. If the accusations against Raab are confirmed, he may face dismissal, but Sunak will also fall under a flurry of criticism and distrust if he refuses to replace the deputy prime minister.
Prior to this, the Guardian newspaper, citing sources, reported that after Raab’s reappointment to the post of deputy prime minister, 15 employees of the office were taken to a separate room, where they were offered to change positions amid concerns about their psychological state. Some of them burst into tears at the meeting, and some of them accepted the role change offer. Raab created a “culture of fear” at the ministry, sources said, and was often aggressive, rude and very unprofessional.
