The German Defense Ministry commented on Kyiv’s requests for the transfer of equipment.

The German Defense Ministry commented on Kyiv’s requests for the transfer of equipment.

After the decision to re-export Polish MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine, which Germany inherited after unification with the GDR, Germany did not receive requests from the Ukrainian side to transfer other Polish equipment to it, Arne Kollatz, a spokesman for the German Defense Ministry, told reporters.

The Spiegel edition on Thursday reported that the German government, at the request of Poland, allowed the re-export to Ukraine of Polish MiG-29 fighter jets, inherited by the FRG after unification with the GDR. Later, the German Ministry of Defense officially confirmed this information.

As a representative of the German Defense Ministry said at a briefing on Friday, there is no information about Ukraine’s requests for other Polish equipment.

I can’t confirm that there are such requests,” Kollatz said at a briefing on Friday, when asked if the Ukrainian side had approached the German side directly with a request to transfer other Polish military equipment to it in the future.
