The head of the US Treasury said she was going to visit China at “an appropriate time.”

US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said she intends to visit China at “an appropriate time” for a “substantive dialogue” on economic relations.

The visit, according to her plan, should fit into the outline of complex work on defining the rules for interaction between the two countries.

“The US will never compromise its security or principles, but we can find a way forward if China is also ready for it. Therefore, I plan to visit China at the appropriate time,” the minister said.

“I look forward to an important and substantive dialogue on the economy with my new colleague in the Chinese government,” Yellen added.

In February, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken was scheduled to visit Beijing, but the visit was postponed indefinitely due to the incident with a Chinese balloon that crossed the entire US and was shot down over the Atlantic. The Americans say that the balloon collected intelligence information, the Chinese deny this.
