“Hints were made regarding a possible deal. I confirm that our compatriot refused the deal because he considers his arrest unfair. I am firmly convinced that if a verdict is passed regarding the terms of his stay in prison, the Russian’s team will challenge this verdict,” the diplomat said.

According to him, the defense will seek not only a reduction in the term, but also the complete release of Klyushin. At the same time, the ambassador found it difficult to guess what punishment the judge would determine for the Russian, but made it clear that we are talking about a multi-year term in “American dungeons”. In particular, the figure of 20 years in prison was called, but as a result, the term may grow even more.
