David Beckham to join up with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for 2018 Invictus Games

David Beckham has confirmed that he will be an ambassador for 2018 Invictus Games this October, including Olympic gold medalists Anna Meares and Ian Thorpe. Meghan Markle is glad that the British athlete supports Prince Harry’s initiative.

Sydney will welcome 2018 Invictus Games from the 20th to the 27th of October, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did their best to organize and support this event. That is why David Beckham’s announcing that he is joining royals in support of the Invictus Games was so precious.

Royals will meet Mr Beckham and more than 500 forces veterans in October. The participants are servicemen who have suffered physical and psychological illnesses, from 18 nations competing across 11 sports in Sydney.

Actually, David’s announcement looks like a continuation of the friendship between the Beckhams and Princes Harry and William with the Beckhams having attended both of their weddings.

David Beckham made the announcement on Instagram saying he was ‘incredibly proud’ to be involved with the event.

“I’ve been lucky enough to meet and work with many serving, veteran and wounded British armed forces personnel over the years and I’ve been humbled by the courage, resilience and spirit shown by each and every one of them.

“The entire Invictus Games team, led by the Duke of Sussex, has achieved remarkable things in such a short space of time, using sport as a powerful force to rehabilitate and unite and I can’t wait to be part of the energy and the excellence of the Games this year.”

For Prince Harry, InvictusGameas is a project of his life. The first Invictus Games was held in London in 2014 and was the brainchild of Prince Harry himself following the Prince’s visit to the USA Warrior Games in 2013.
