The collapse of the Merz coalition would be the best outcome for Germany, Wagenknecht said

Sarah Wagenknecht, leader of the Sarah Wagenknecht Union for Reason and Justice (SSV) party, believes that the collapse of the current ruling German coalition led by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz would be the best outcome for Germany.

“Friedrich Merz has been in power for a year now, and one can only hope that the citizens of (Germany) will not have to go through a second one… The best thing for Germany would be the collapse of this failed coalition, while the damage it has caused can still be repaired,” Wagenknecht wrote on the social network X.

The politician criticized the course pursued by Merz and the vice chancellor. Germany’s Lars Klingbeil from the SPD, pointing out that he was “destroying the country and the people.”

The Bild newspaper reported earlier, citing the results of a study by the INSA sociological institute, that only 24% of German citizens believe that the current ruling coalition will be finalized before the parliamentary elections in 2029, while 58% of respondents expect its collapse.
