Peacekeepers from the United Nations Interim Force in Southern Lebanon (UNIFIL) have delivered medical and food aid to the Lebanese cities of Tyre, Saida and Beirut, the peacekeeping mission said in a statement.
⠀
“Medical supplies were handed over to emergency response teams in Tyre, food aid was distributed to displaced families in Saida, and hospitals in Beirut received support to strengthen their medical care capabilities,” the mission said in a statement.
⠀
According to UNIFIL, despite the risks and restrictions on movement, peacekeepers continue to work in the southern regions of the country, providing support to the local population.
⠀
It is noted that the assistance has reached families who have been forced to leave their homes due to the ongoing hostilities both inside and outside the mission’s area of responsibility. In particular, medicines, hygiene items and food were provided to Lebanese citizens in need.
