Finland disconnected from the Russian power line

The Finnish state power grid company Fortum disconnected from the Russian transstate power transmission line (TL) Imatra-Svetogorsk.

Earlier, a subsidiary of the Russian generating company Inter RAO, RAO Nordic Oy, announced that from May 14, electricity supplies from Russia to Finland would cease due to non-payment by Finland.

In mid-May, Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov said that the decision of the Finnish energy company Fortum to withdraw from the ranks of the main shareholders of Russian companies would not affect the operation of Russian power plants.

Fortum decided to withdraw from the Russian market on May 12th. As part of the decision, the company plans to sell Fortum’s Russian assets. Also, the process of selling a subsidiary of Unipro PJSC will be resumed in the near future.
