The United States and a number of countries in the UN Security Council condemned the missile launches of the DPRK

The statement read out by US Permanent Representative Linda Thomas-Greenfield says that the United States, France, Great Britain and a number of countries that are members of the UN Security Council condemned the recent missile launches of the DPRK, called on Pyongyang to diplomacy,
Russia and China did not join the statement.

“Albania, Ecuador, France, Japan, Malta, the Republic of Korea, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States strongly condemn the DPRK ICBM launch on February 18, as well as the two missile launches on February 19,” Thomas-Greenfield said.

The statement also said: this is already the fourth test of a ballistic missile this year, the ninth test of ICBMs since the beginning of 2022.

“This launch is reckless and dangerous. Each of these launches was a violation of multiple UN Security Council resolutions. The launch of ICBMs this weekend poses a threat not only to the region, but also to international peace and security. In particular, it undermines nuclear non-proliferation throughout the world,” Thomas-Greenfield pointed out.

“The United States and nine states are fully committed to diplomacy and continue to call on the DPRK to return to dialogue. We call on all UN member countries to join us and condemn the irresponsible behavior of the DPRK,” she read out.
