U.S. Attorney General and Attorney General Merrick Garland confirmed that National Guard Air Force Serviceman Jack Teixeira was detained on Thursday in connection with Pentagon leaks.

“Today, the Department of Justice detained Jack Douglas Teixeira in connection with an investigation … of the unauthorized transmission of classified information relating to US national security. Teixeira is a member of the US Air National Guard,” Garland said during an unannounced special speech to reporters.

As the official added, the suspicion was taken under guard by his FBI agents, the detention of the past without any incident. “This is the first time he will appear in District Court for the District of Massachusetts,” Garland said.
