At the same time, as Macron noted, the minimum wage in France continues to grow, “other wages should follow,” and this is one of the topics that are now being discussed in the government.

Earlier, the National Institute of Statistics (Insee) reported that the annual inflation in France in March amounted to 5.7%. Food prices for the year rose in March by 15.9%.
In early March, French Economy and Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire announced new measures to protect the French from food inflation, which will be in effect until June.

Authorities have required major retailers to establish an “anti-inflationary quarter” starting in March.
