Airport operations in New York have been suspended.

John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) and Newark Airport in New York state have suspended operations after the earthquake and are being assessed for possible aftershocks, state Governor Kathy Hochul said at a briefing.

“I would like to inform you that JFK and Newark airports have completely stopped operations. The possible consequences are being assessed,” Hochul said.


It is noted that LaGuardia Airport was not damaged.


According to NY1, 95 flights are delayed at JFK and 191 flights are delayed at Newark.
