The US and Israel are holding a virtual meeting on the situation in Rafah.

Representatives of the United States and Israel are holding virtual consultations on Monday on the situation with the possible start of a military operation in the city of Rafah, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said on Monday.

“The parties will discuss the situation in Rafah, as well as further steps that Israel intends to take,” Jean-Pierre said.

According to her, these consultations are a continuation of discussions at the level of military departments, which began the previous week.

The White House spokeswoman recalled that Washington considers alternative methods of combating the Hamas group acceptable, which will allow Israel to avoid a full-scale military operation in Rafah.

“This is what our discussions will be about today, and we believe it is important that they take place as soon as possible,” Jean-Pierre added.
