Hungarian Prime Minister supported the idea to exclude pipeline oil from sanctions

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban welcomed the EU proposal to exclude Russian oil supplies via the pipeline from European restrictions, but stated the need for guarantees of energy supplies for his country.

Earlier, a source in the EU said that at present, within the framework of the sixth package of anti-Russian sanctions, only an embargo on Russian oil supplied by sea is being discussed, pipeline Russian oil will be excluded from the sanctions for the time being.

“This is a good approach, but we need guarantees that in the event of an accident on the Russian oil pipeline passing through Ukraine, we will be able to receive Russian oil from other sources,” Orban said before the EU summit in Brussels.
