The Pacific island nations have greeted the US proposal for cooperation with claims. At the summit in Washington, the American side tried to get closer to the countries of the Pacific islands, but their intentions only alerted potential partners.

The authorities of the Solomon Islands announced in a diplomatic note that they were refusing to sign the agreement promoted by the United States. The Pacific state indicated that it was “unable to accept the declaration” and needed time to evaluate the American proposal. At the same time, the delegation of the Solomon Islands postponed the meeting at which the United States planned to discuss the draft document.
